My Story

Villo exists because every child deserves both to be genuinely understood and genuinely challenged. My approach combines a psychology-informed understanding of each child's emotional world with a serious commitment to academic rigour, because the two build on each other rather than compete. Before any curriculum begins, I focus on building a real relationship with a child, quickly, so they feel safe, respected, and heard. Over ten years working with children and young people nationally and internationally, I've learned to notice what's beneath the surface: where confidence has been knocked, what's making school or friendships hard, what isn't being said out loud. That understanding is what lets me set the right pace and the right challenge for each individual child, rather than a generic one. Parents consistently tell me their child made faster progress, academically and personally, than they expected. That isn't a coincidence. It's what happens when a child feels truly seen, and is then given work that respects both their needs and their potential.

How I work with every child.

Building trust quickly

Children can tell when an adult genuinely likes them. I put connection first, so a child feels safe and respected before any work begins.

Reading what's beneath the surface

A wobble in confidence, a friendship worry, a subject that's quietly become scary. I notice what isn't being said and shape support around it.

Communicating in a way that reaches each child

Every child responds differently. I adapt tone, pace and language so learning lands, whether that's playful, structured, or somewhere in between.

Being a consistent, trusted presence

The same warm, reliable adult, week after week. Predictability is what lets children take the risks that lead to real progress.

Moving quickly once trust is there

Once a child feels understood, we can stretch fast. I don't mistake gentleness for slowness, expectations stay high.

Delivering academic excellence

Every programme is built on a genuinely tailored curriculum, so children are supported and stretched in equal measure, making real academic progress alongside their confidence and wellbeing.
