Terms of use

About these terms
These terms cover your use of the Villo website (villocare.com), the Villo platform, and the pre-launch waitlist. By creating an account or joining the waitlist you agree to them.
What Villo is
Villo is a secure shared space for the people around one child. It lets a parent or carer build a profile of their child, store documents and reports in folders, keep notes and track progress, invite other people into their child's village, and control exactly what each person can see. Some features are still in development and are offered as early access.
Villo is an organisational tool. It is not medical, clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic, legal or educational advice, and it is not a substitute for professional assessment or treatment. Any summaries or suggestions generated within the platform are there to help you organise information, not to diagnose or make decisions for you. Always consult an appropriately qualified professional about your child's health, care or education.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over to create an account.
- You must be the child's parent or carer, or otherwise have authority to hold information about them, and you are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.
- Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity on your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.
- Please give accurate details and keep them up to date.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you put into Villo. You give us only the permission we need to store, process and display it so the service works for you and the people you have shared it with. We do not use your content to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.
Inviting other people
You decide who joins your child's village and what each person can see, whether that is a single document, a folder, or everything. Before inviting someone, please make sure it is appropriate to share that information with them. You can change or remove access at any time, although we cannot undo what someone has already seen or downloaded.
If you have been invited into someone else's village, you may only use what you see there for the purpose of supporting that child, and you must not copy or pass it on without permission.
Early access and the waitlist
Parts of Villo are still being built. Features may change, be paused or be withdrawn, and we cannot promise a specific launch date for anything on the waitlist. Joining the waitlist creates no obligation on either side and costs nothing.
Using Villo fairly
You agree not to:
- upload content you have no right to hold or share, or content that is unlawful;
- add someone else's email to the waitlist or an invitation without their permission;
- try to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service;
- attempt to access another account's data;
- use Villo in a way that breaks the law or harms other users.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to do so by law.
Pricing
Villo is currently free to use while in early access. If we introduce paid plans, we will set out the price and terms clearly before you are asked to pay, and existing accounts will be given notice first.
Ending your use of Villo
You can stop using Villo at any time and delete your account from Settings, Security and privacy. Deleting your account removes your profiles, documents and notes from the live service, as described in our Privacy notice. Please export anything you want to keep first.
Availability
We work hard to keep Villo online and secure, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. The service is provided "as is" and may be taken down for maintenance. Please keep your own copies of anything important, Villo is not a backup service of last resort.
Security
We describe the security measures we have in place in our Privacy notice. We do not claim any external security certification. If you find a security issue, please email hello@villocare.com and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before sharing it publicly.
Content and trademarks
Villo, the Villo name, and the site's copy, images and design are owned by us or our licensors. You may share links to public pages, but please do not republish our content without permission.
Complaints
If something is not right, please contact hello@villocare.com and we will do our best to resolve it.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions taken on the basis of information organised or summarised within Villo.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms as Villo develops. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes affecting account holders, let you know by email. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
